This Week's Free Lab Radio - Transcender, Barbican

This week’s Free Lab Radio is all about the Barbican’s current Transcender, a yearly series celebrating anything from acoustic music with a spiritual or meditative aspect to electronic tonal pieces that wash away the city’s ire.

Transcender 2016 series offers a set of remarkable collaborations, performing at venues from St Luke’s to Barbican hall itself.

Featured artists: Stars of the Lid, James Holden with the late Mahmoud Guinia and Floating points, (Holden will perform with Guinia son Houusam for the festival in his honour), Parissa from Iran plus ensemble, and Sonic Boom… track listings are below if you’re curious.

With tracks created by Andrulian for the Cities and Memory as well as Naviar Haiku by Naviar Records, Netklang Compilation by Fwonk*, the remix of Maya Wolff vocals and more, including an exclusive track for this mix.

An experimental producer, Andrulian has several solo albums online. For this mix he uses field recordings, sampled sounds and various synths and effects over the tracks. Tracklist below.

Autumn Programming: Free Lab Radio Presents Borderless at Battersea Arts Centre


Borderless Festival at Battersea Arts

After a month of suspended live programming Resonance104.4FM is back on Saturday nights 11-midnight, repeating Tuesday 4am BST (British Summer Time.) 

Battersea Arts Centre host Borderless - a music series August to September in the centre's beautiful 'Council Chamber'. As per its name, the festival brings exciting and fringe world music to this arts venue. We hear from the albums of August performers: Hackney Colliery
Band, Sons Of Kemet, Dele Sosimi, Kate Bloom
and forthcoming September
performers: Electric Jalaba, Meta Meta and Francesca Belmonte, Anima.
