This Week's Free Lab Radio - Sound::Gender::Feminism::Action



This week on Free Lab Radio an hour of sound extracted from references made during a two day conference: Sound::Gender::Feminism::Action (SGFA) held at the London College of Communication, a college of the University of the Arts in London. SGFA is in its third iteration in 2016, and speakers included a mixture of curators, writers and lecturers and PhD researchers and artists.

Speakers included Christine Eyene, Annie Goh, Shanti Suki Osman,Vron Ware, Paul Tourle, and a digital intervention by the group INVASORIX.

Tracks tonight are by Elsa M'bala from Cameroon (playing calebasse, loopstation, pocket piano, mbira, synth, voice) Dinah Shore and Pearl Bailey, Missy Eliot remixed,   dissatisfying sounds from the national project Sounds of Our Shores, the Sudanese Supremes: Al Balabil, Ayoka Chenzira, John Cage, Aaparat, Maalem Ahmed, Korpsikov, Invasorix, Shanti Suki Osman.
